I'm very curious about your sentence, "And the word is kore." I hadn't known the IE root was to grow or to feed. This makes sense, as in Greek mythology Kore was a name for Persephone, the daughter of Demeter who was lured to the underworld by Hades. In Greek, the word means "the maid" or "the virgin." In other words, she who is still growing.
